Can you believe there are just seven more days to go (its 12:30 here on the east coast).

How's every one doing on their pre op diets?  As you see from my  new avatar all over the board, I had my own drama.

I had a hunger meltdown.  I cheated when I wasn't even very hungry and I got over it.  I had an asthmatic reaction to my protein powder, so I had to create my own diet until I could get a suitable substitute.  Now I'm back on track.

I have my nutrition ed classes for post op on Tue and my pre op physical on Thurs.   I am so ready.  I want this week to zoom by.

I'm going to pack my bag for the hospital now.

I KNOW!!!  One more week!
I had my own bit of problems with the pre-op diet. My DH picked up some BOOST for me to use in place of Slim Fast. Silly me, on the run so much, didn't realize how many calories were in them! Good Lord! I was down 7 lbs. and now back up 4!

That will teach me!  Anyway, staying the course with the slim fast this week, and bypassing the optional "real food" meal.  So, hopefully I will be able to take off a few more before surgery.

I haven't even thought about packing! I just have been focused on finding a new bathrobe!

It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Got the robe and the nightie ages ago in anticipation...  I'd look like a homeless peron in my usual jamies and robe.

I'm packing early cause I tend to forget.  I'm in the habit of starting a bag and dropping items in as I remember them.  I travel frequently and this is the only way it works for me, otherwise I'm just a mess.   I'm away the end of Feb, beginning of March and tht bag is already started too.

Thanks for the warning about the Boost. I've been eyeing it for post op.  Who needs the extra calories?   I'm good with the pre op diet too.  This week  is much easier than last week.  My apetite is way down now.

What  I really care about is my liver shrinking and my lungs recovering from the whey protein before my pre op physical.   I am sucking up asthma meds every few hours to keep clear.  I 've been here before and should be ok in another day or so.

I just got a new robe too!  I have so much to do this week that I feel like time is really going to fly.

I found the pre-op diet really hard over the weekend, especially with the Super Bowl, but I made it through.  Being at work is much easier.

Good luck to all of you!!

HEY... I am sooo stoked about it only being 7 days out... Thanks for the replies on my post from Friday I was away from the pc all weekend..  And MSW- Honey- I was a basket case for about a week... now i am getting  better. so i know what you meant when you were almost to crying when you read my post... I too, read a bunch of stuff on here that got me thinking about a lot of stuff that contributed to my "freak out"  ha ha..

Much better now though... i did better over the weekend than i thought i would.. and i am down 15 pounds now... YAY..

I bought all my food for post op on Friday, some new jammies- cause like you again.. i'd be a pauper if they saw me in my regular bed duds..hee hee.. but I LOVE them.  Also got some travel toiletries and all for my hubby and me and i guess i will pack later in the week. I have detailed lists though 3 of them... I am a list person, without a doubt.

I am SOOOO happy for us you guys!! we are on the down hill part of this now.. we did the 1st week of liver shrink now we just crested the top and are on our way to the finish line..

Congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait til next Monday. Got vitamins and food for first weeks post Op. This liquid diet is not fun. I think it might be more of a mental battle for me. I know it will be worth it in the end.

Hang in there Feb 9ers,

Nicole

I am eating less than allowed which is actually helping me get through this week.  When I eat the allowed "feedings" I always want more food.

I 'm focusing on the dairy and protein shakes.  If I don't have to chew I think less about food.   At first I was so glad I did not have to do all liquids.  Now I think for me anyway, liquids only would be easier to stick with.  Eating four ounces at a time is just too hard on a stomach that can easily hold a quart.

My nutrition class is tomorrow.  I'll be out shopping on Wednesday for my post op foods.

The countdown continues...
